Captain David Edens with a 10 pound Red Fish

Capt. David Edens is the  Coast Guard licensed captain of Fly Cast Charters.  Capt. Dave has been an avid fisherman of both coastal and inland waters for much of his life, casting his line in waters from the wilds of Alaska to the salt marshes of the Golden Isles. 

In addition to fishing the inland waters, grass flats, creeks and cuts of the Golden Isles, your charter  includes the opportunity to improve your casting skills.  As one of only two Federation of Fly Fisher’s Certified Instructors in the Golden Isles, you are assured he will provide you with professional instruction.

A typical day of fishing with Captain Dave will be spent sight casting to feeding or cruising red fish.  If the tides are high enough, we will look for Tailers on the many grass flats in the area.  As the tide changes, we will  target either Redfish or Trout with a fly rod or light tackle. 

In the summer, the opportunity exists to catch world class Jack Cravalle in the 25-35 pound range as well as Tarpon and Triple Tail on fly or spinning tackle. 

In the fall, the fly casting is superb for sight fishing for Reds and Trout.  Also, the bull Reds, up to 40 pounds, are available in the passes and cuts to the Golden Isles.  If the bulls are schooling, we can fly cast to them.  If not, we can chunk bait for them.  Catching a 20-30  pound bull Red is a fight not soon forgotten .
